Privacy policy

1. Information we collect

When you use Story Wonders, we collect: your account information provided through Google OAuth (name, email address, and profile photo); photos you upload of your child; story prompts and preferences you provide; and the generated book content (illustrations and text).

2. How we use your information

We use your information solely to create your personalized storybooks, to maintain and improve the service, and to communicate with you about your account. We do not use your photos or content for any purpose other than fulfilling your book requests.

3. Children's privacy

Story Wonders is a service for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and guardians upload photos and provide content on behalf of their children. Uploaded photos are used exclusively to create illustrated character likenesses for storybooks and are never used for any other purpose.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored using Vercel infrastructure located in the United States. Images are stored via Vercel Blob and account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or photos with third parties. We use third-party AI services to generate illustrations and story text. Your photos are transmitted to these services solely for processing and are not retained by them beyond the generation request.

6. Your rights

You can access your data through your Story Wonders account at any time. You may delete individual characters and their associated photos from your account. You can export your books as PDF files. To request complete account deletion, contact us at support@storywonders.com.

7. Data retention

Your account data and content are retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data — including photos, characters, and books — is permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and access controls on all stored data.

9. Cookies

Story Wonders uses session cookies for authentication only. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your account.
